overview
We provide information about the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender communities in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.

People telephone us or come in to find out what is going on in Auckland ; we tell them about the various venues they can go to, the many community organisations they can contact for help and advice and the social and support groups they might like to join.

We are a non-profit organisation with a charitable status, administered by a board of trustees. The PRIDE Centre relies largely upon our volunteers to provide these services to our community and visitors.

Every year we organise various events to promote a positive and affirming image of the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender communities. This is to celebrate diversity within the Queer community and to combat prejudice from without.

information / referral
We are your point of contact for the community. For access to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender friendly professionals, for visitors to Auckland who want information on the local queer scene. For information on all Pride Centre activities and resources. Or check out our bi-monthly newsletter, website, and noticeboards.

meeting spaces
The PRIDE Centre is happy to encourage the formation of social and support groups by people connected to our client communities. LGBT Community groups can arrange to use the Pride Centre for meetings during the weekday evenings or daytime on the weekends. Close to public transport and with disabled access, the meeting area can seat around 20 people. Hot and cold beverages are available. Please phone the Centre on (09) 302 0590 for available times and for advice about setting up your new group.

library
Take home the best in queer reading. We have a rapidly growing library of about 450 books and videos, donated by generous folk. The library mostly contains a fabulous collection of books, magazines and videos; Lesbian detective stories, transexual journeys of discovery, overseas gay magazines, and more... If you are a member of the Pride Centre, you can borrow books and videos for up to three weeks. Membership of the library alone can be arranged for people who are not members of the Pride Centre (currently $2.00).

drop-in centre
Weekdays between 12-5 pm, we offer a comfortable, pleasant drop-in lounge in the centre of Auckland city. Here you can sit and relax; hot and cold drinks are available. You can browse our magazine selection or peruse the Pride library. The volunteers will be on hand to show you around.

art collection
Several Pride Centre members have generously donated works of Art to decorate our offices and drop-in centre. Most have been donated by the Artists themselves. Care has been taken to ensure that the sensibilities of all Centre users are respected; the works on display celebrate Queer diversity and culture in an uplifting, positive way.
